India and Malaysia share a longstanding relationship anchored in mutual economic aspirations, cultural connections, and an enduring commitment to regional cooperation. As India strengthens its presence within the ASEAN framework—through expanding bilateral trade, technology partnerships, strategic investments, and enhanced market access—the regional dynamics between India, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia continue to evolve into a powerful engine for shared economic growth. This broader vision of cross-continental collaboration was brought into focus at the United Economic Summit 2025, hosted by the United Diplomatic Council (UDC) on 23rd November 2025 in Klang, Malaysia.
The Summit served as a distinguished platform for diplomats, policymakers, business leaders, and global stakeholders to exchange perspectives on the future of economic diplomacy, sustainable trade ecosystems, supply-chain diversification, regional connectivity, and emerging opportunities for India–ASEAN economic cooperation. The presence of esteemed dignitaries contributed depth, credibility, and strategic alignment to the conversations surrounding trade facilitation, investment promotion, and industry-led innovation.
A significant highlight was the attendance of Dato’ Haji Abd Hamid bin Hussain, Hon’ble Mayor of Klang, whose insights reinforced the city’s rising importance as a hub for international trade dialogue and economic development.
“Klang is steadily transforming into a centre of economic dialogue and international cooperation. Platforms like the United Economic Summit strengthen our commitment to inviting global partnerships and creating opportunities that benefit both local communities and our regional stakeholders.”

The active participation of Klang’s leadership—including local policymakers, municipal representatives, and community influencers—added further depth to discussions on regional development, investment facilitation, logistics connectivity, and cross-border partnerships. Their presence reflected Klang’s growing ambition to position itself as a strategic gateway for ASEAN economic integration and foreign investment flows.
Another distinguished presence at the Summit was HE YB Ganabatirau A/L Verman, Member of Parliament for Klang Constituency, whose engagement invigorated the business community and emphasised the Malaysian government’s commitment to advancing bilateral and multilateral economic initiatives. His participation signaled strong political support for strengthening India–Malaysia commercial ties, promoting MSME collaboration, and enhancing Klang’s role as an anchor point for regional trade connectivity and global value chains.
Speaking on the success of the Summit, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the United Diplomatic Council, noted:
“India, Malaysia, and the broader ASEAN region hold tremendous potential for collaborative growth. Our aim is to bring industry leaders onto a shared platform where ideas can transform into impactful partnerships.”
The United Economic Summit 2025 concluded with a renewed commitment to expanding India–Malaysia economic linkages, supporting sustainable development goals, and strengthening India’s broader engagement across the ASEAN economic landscape. As UDC continues building platforms that connect nations, industries, and innovators, the United Economic Summit 2025 in Klang stands as an important milestone in shaping the future of global cooperation, trade connectivity, and shared economic progress.
