In an era where agriculture is increasingly shaped by global disruptions, climate challenges, and evolving trade dynamics, the need for strong diplomatic and institutional collaboration has become critical. The 7th Agri Business Conclave & Awards 2026, held at the TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, addressed this very intersection—bringing together diplomacy, innovation, and sustainable agriculture under one platform.
The conclave convened a distinguished gathering of international diplomats, policymakers, and sector experts, reflecting the growing role of agriculture in global diplomacy. Among those present were H.E. Mr. Riaz Hamidullah, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India; H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, Ambassador of Cuba to India; and H.E. Mr. Mariano Agustin Caucino, Ambassador of Argentina to India. Their participation reinforced the idea that agriculture today is not confined within national borders but is deeply tied to global cooperation and economic engagement.
The Indian institutional and academic leadership emphasized the importance of integrating research, policy, and diplomacy to build resilient agricultural systems.
Discussions throughout the conclave highlighted a shift in perspective—from agriculture as a sector of production to agriculture as a driver of sustainability, trade, and international collaboration. Panels explored critical themes such as climate resilience, innovation in agri-systems, and the role of diplomacy in enabling inclusive global growth.
Within this context, United Diplomatic Council (UDC) was recognised for its impactful work. The recognition reflects UDC’s ongoing efforts in strengthening international dialogue, fostering diplomatic engagement, and creating platforms that connect governments, institutions, and industries across borders.
UDC’s work aligns closely with the evolving needs of the global agricultural ecosystem—where collaboration between nations, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships are essential for addressing shared challenges. By facilitating cross-border cooperation and supporting development-oriented initiatives, UDC contributes to building the kind of interconnected framework that the conclave sought to promote.
Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of United Diplomatic Council stated:
“Agriculture today stands at the crossroads of sustainability and global cooperation. We believe that diplomacy is a powerful enabler of progress—bringing nations, ideas, and opportunities together. This recognition strengthens our resolve to continue building meaningful partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable development worldwide.”
More than just a gathering, the 7th Agri Business Conclave & Awards 2026 reflected a broader shift in how agriculture is viewed globally—as a sector that demands collective action, diplomatic synergy, and forward-looking innovation.
