During the World Economic Forum 2026 at Davos Switzerland, an Indian delegation led by the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) held a strategic interaction with Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter, Chairman of Horasis – The Global Visions Community. The meeting brought together Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of IETO, and Mr. Wali Kahvi, Vice President of IETO, with one of the most respected voices in global economic dialogue.
Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter is a globally recognized economic thinker, entrepreneur, and advisor, known for his work in shaping conversations around globalization, emerging markets, and sustainable economic growth. As the founder and Chairman of Horasis, he has built an independent international platform that convenes leaders from business, government, and civil society to address complex global challenges through dialogue and collaboration. Prior to founding Horasis, Dr. Richter served as a Director at the World Economic Forum, where he played a significant role in advancing discussions on global trade, competitiveness, and development.
The engagement at Davos focused on the changing dynamics of the global economy, particularly the role of emerging economies, inclusive growth models, and the need for resilient trade and investment frameworks.
Reflecting on the interaction, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization, stated:
“In a rapidly evolving global economic environment, organizations like IETO and platforms such as WEF play a crucial role in shaping dialogue that goes beyond transactions and focuses on long-term value creation. Engaging with thought leaders like Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter strengthens our collective understanding of how emerging economies can integrate more meaningfully into global value chains while remaining committed to sustainability and inclusive growth.”
The conversation highlighted strong alignment between the aim behind the World Economic Forum 2026 and the mandate of IETO. While WEF emphasizes global visions, cross-regional understanding, and future-oriented economic thinking, IETO continues to focus on translating such ideas into practical trade facilitation, sectoral collaboration, and international market access for Indian enterprises.
The meeting with Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter added meaningful depth to IETO’s participation at WEF 2026, bringing the focus on the importance of dialogue, global perspectives, and collaborative leadership in shaping the future of international trade and economic cooperation.
