The Indian Delegation welcomed the Ambassador of Mauritius to Russia H.E. Keshwar Jankee in New Delhi
A leader and visionary with a long enriching experience in academia, research, policy making, institutional, business and entrepreneurship development, promotion of MSMEs, banking and finance, diplomacy. As an economist and banker, the expertise of Ambassador Jankee has been solicited both locally and internationally as a consultant and in positions of high level responsibilities in governmental and non-governmental organisations. As ex-chairman of the Development Bank of Mauritius, he served WASME as President from 2006 to 2009.
Given his keen interests in MSMEs, he continued to collaborate with WASME as a financial and economic consultant. As a founding member and President of All Africa Association of small and medium enterprises, a pan Africa organization registered in Nigeria, Ambassador Jankee demonstrated his leadership skills and capacity to create a platform for promotions of business in Africa. His international involvement as an academician, economic consultant and recently as a diplomat has strengthened his network of institutions, professionals and leading businessmen highly imperative for consolidating WASME globally.
The ambassador indicated that he has initiated dialogue with several ministries in Mauritius so as to further strengthen the bilateral relationships that Mauritius and Russia share. Dr Jankee highlighted that discussions with the delegation and focused on the ways that the Mauritian Embassy in Moscow can assist the collaborations that can invite investors in Mauritius.
He briefed the opportunities as regards hospitality, export of indian culture, quality of life, security of investments, and use of technology to address issues at grassroot levels for investors. He also mentioned fitting in the objectives of each ministry in Mauritius into the investors’ agenda through the signing of various partnerships and other collaborations in various fields between the two countries.
The delegation of Indian investors will visit in November 2024 to explore opportunities in agricultural equipment, education collaborations,solar energy and hospitality investments in the country.
The visit of the exploratory delegation to Mauritius in August 2024 saw progressive collaborations between various Indian and Mauritius businessmen during the meeting in Port Louis.
