The Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) was invited to join the India-Russia Business Forum in Mumbai on 11th November 2024. Ms. Ksenia Pogrebinskay from Roscongress echoed this sentiment, stating, “There’s a growing interest from Russian businesses in sectors like renewable energy and pharmaceuticals in India. Our collaboration is set to create unprecedented opportunities for both countries to innovate and expand.” Her remarks highlighted the readiness of Russian enterprises to explore India’s vast market potential, especially in light of expanding initiatives for joint development.

Vice President of IETO, Mr. Wali Kashvi, expressed that as part of these initiatives, the India Eurasia Trade Council under IETO is organizing a delegation to Russia in December 2024. This delegation aims to further solidify business partnerships across sectors. This will be followed by a major event in St. Petersburg in June 2025, marking a milestone for Eurasian trade relations and underscoring the importance of sustained India-Russia collaboration.

The discussions at the forum underscored the wide-ranging business potential across sectors. India and Russia have a strong history of collaboration in defense and energy. However, this forum brought to light new opportunities, especially in technology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and infrastructure.
